Visual Mathematics through hand signals
In a game of basketball a referee uses hand signals to indicate to the bench when a player scores a goal, gets a foul or does something against the rules. Visual mathematics is used here for the people on the score bench whereby the referee indicates to them whether or not the goal scored was worth one, two or three points and what player scored these points by signalling there playing number. The Pictures below given an example of both the points scored, either one, two or three and the players numbers (FIBA, 2012).
